<p>PURPOSE:To prevent a water turbine from being placed in the runaway state by connecting a dummy load with a generator, when the detection signal of the number of revolutions of said generator exceeds a set value. CONSTITUTION:The output of a generator 5 driven by a water turbine 4 is supplied to a load 10 via a breaker 11. On the other hand, a number-of- revolutions detector 14 operates an alarm 15 and closes a breaker 13 when the number of revolutions of a generator 5 exceeds a set value. When the breaker 13 is closed, a dummy load 12 is connected with the generator 5 and the number of revolutions of said generator 5 lowers. In this manner, one can eliminate a possibility that the water turbine may reach a runaway speed.</p> |
