<p>PURPOSE:To enable uniform display without fluctuation in the surface steps with each color and contrast by polishing the colored layers formed on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:The colored layers 2 formed on the transparent substrate 1 are rotated by weighing >=50g/cm<2> onto a surface plate of foamed urethane and is polished for 1min by using cerium oxide of 2mum grain size as a polishing agent and for 2min by using alumina of 0.2mum grain size as the polishing agent. The max. step is thereby decreased to 0.02mum and dust 3 on the colored layers 2 is eliminated, by which the color filter having the excellent flatness of a polished surface 4 is obtd. The uniform and high-grade display without having the fluctuation in the surface steps with each color and the contrast is obtd. if a liquid crystal display device is assembled by using the electrode substrate formed with transparent electrodes on such surface.</p> |
