PURPOSE:To obtain rotated picture data through less operational processing by calculating picture element color change point position information after rotation by 90 deg. from the position information of a picture element color change point and converting this calculated value into encoded picture data. CONSTITUTION:Data that the address of the picture element color change point of line dot pattern encoded data read out from an original picture memory 11 was MMR-compressed is supplied through a code decision circuit 12, and corresponding arithmetic operation circuits 131-139 are selected, and a picture element address after rotation by 90 deg. is calculated, and stored in a line address picture memory 16. From this memory 16, the picture element color change point address after rotation by 90 deg. for every line is read out, converted into the encoded picture data compressed by MMR system by an MMR compression circuit 17, and stored in a compressed picture memory 18. Not by dot information but by this system based on the picture element color change point address, arithmetic operation quantity is extremely decreased, and picture data rotation is quickly performed through less arithmetic operation quantity. |
