PURPOSE:To prevent destruction from affecting a thermal head, its driving circuit, and a CPU by preventing accumulating of static electricity preventing electricity from discharging to the thermal head even when static electricity discharges at high voltage, by a method wherein a printer is protected from electrostatic impulse with an electrostatic preventive member. CONSTITUTION:An electrostatic preventive plate 76 is so constructed as to be always connected to a slide plate 70 by a spring property of a connection 76a. The electrostatic preventive plate 76 is established at a position enclosing a thermal head 20 near the thermal head 20 on a surface of a protective cover 71. Then, the electrostatic preventive plate 76 is earth-connected to a frame 1 via the earth connection part 76b of the elelectrostatic preventive plate 76, the slide plate 70, and a slide spring 74. By such a simple structure, the thermal head and its driving circuit, and 1C such as a CPU or the like are protected from electrostatic impulse at high voltage by discharge of static electricity accumulated in a human body, a printing surface, an ink ribbon, etc., and destruction by static electricity can be eliminated. |
