PURPOSE:To permit inner and outer sheath not to be exfoliated from each other and broken even if an end of a flexible sheath is largely bent, by fixedly bonding at least the proximity of an end of the synthetic resin outer sheath to the inner sheath with thermal molding. CONSTITUTION:A flexible sheath 2 is constituted from an inside sheath 7 formed of tight a coiled strip-like metal elastic plate and an outside sheath 8 covering the outer periphery of the inside sheath 7 and formed of tetraethylene fluoride resin or the like. The inside and outside sheathes 7, 8 are formed over a considerable length from the endmost portion with a heat molded portion 10 formed by heating and drawing the outside sheath 8 through a die or the like on the inside sheath 7. Thus, the flexible sheath 2 does not need to have a particularly long hard portion so that the flexibility is not damaged and the heat molded portion 10 can have any proper length. The inside and outside sheathes 7, 8 are not exfoliated from each other to expose the inside sheath 7 to that a risk of burning a normal mucosa other than an object can be surely prevented. |
