Cultivation element having a planar or curved rear wall which is adjoined, on the visible side, by at least one or more pocket(s) which project(s) towards the viewer and are filled with plant soil or serve to receive a hydroculture, the pocket(s) being connected fixedly to the rear wall or fastened releasably on the rear wall. In this arrangement, the visible-side delimitation wall of the pockets may consist of a material which has large and continuous pores or fine continuous openings, and it may have slits, and the latter may be closed off by means of screen-type grids or large-pored coverings.
