The invention relates to an apparatus for assembling cigarette filter sections to form a multi-component filter, in which the individual filter sections are passed from a magazine transversely to their axis to a drum conveyor (5). According to the invention, a number of feed containers (1) selected to correspond to the number of different filter sections, are arranged in a staggered sequence, into which the individual filter sections can each be introduced parallel to each other. The individual filter sections are introduced via the discharge apertures of the feed containers into axially oriented troughs on the circumference of the drum conveyor (5), so that on rotation of the drum conveyor (5) filter sections arranged axially in sequence are transferred from the feed containers (1) into each trough.
