The device of the motor-driven spelt-husking machine serves for separating the spelt grain (and related species of cereal) from the husk surrounding the cereal grain. The device has at least two husking tools (8, 9, 10) fastened pivotably on a horizontally mounted axle (7), which husking tools (8, 9, 10) are surrounded, at a distance forming a friction gap, by a housing (2) and a screen region (11). The material to be husked is fed to the friction space (21) via a feed funnel (3) and leaves the friction space (21) through the screen region (11) via the friction gap (5). <IMAGE>
