The present invention relates to novel five-membered (p-phenoxyphenoxy)methyl heteroaromatic rings of the general formula I <IMAGE> in which the substituents have the following meaning: R<1>, R<2> and R<3> are hydrogen, halogen, C1-C8-alkyl, C1-C8-alkoxy, C1-C4-haloalkyl, C1-C4-haloalkoxy, C3-C10-cycloalkyl, nitro or cyano, R<4> is hydrogen or C1-C4-alkyl and Q is a five-membered heteroaryl radical, with the proviso that R<4> does not represent methyl if Q is the five-membered heteroaryl radical II.26 <IMAGE> in which R<9> represents hydrogen, halogen, C1-C8-alkyl, C1-C4-haloalkyl, C1-C4-alkoxy, C3-C10-cycloalkyl or aryl, which is optionally monosubstituted to trisubstituted by halogen, C1-C8-alkyl, C1-C8-alkoxy, C1-C4-haloalkyl or C1-C4-haloalkoxy, and to processes for their preparation and their use in pest control.
