The present invention relates to a rotating dental preparation tool, preferably one having a diamond-coated surface and one or more helical grooves for transporting the removed material away, the grooves preferably not having any diamond coating, and cooling of the contact site between drill and material processed at least partially being effected by a coolant which is conveyed through the interior of the tool and outlet orifices on the surface of the tool.
