Process for the production of castings free from shrinkage cavities from metals or their alloys, by pressing of the melt under high casting pressure into an impression (3), the metal being kept under pressure during solidification, characterized in that, after solidification of the entire surface of the casting and of at least 10 % of the casting volume, but before release from the die, high pressure gas is introduced into the impression (3) and the latter is subjected to pneumatic pressure of at least 2 MPa, preferably 10 to 50 MPa. |
