Multi-axle steering system

A multi-axle steering system for vehicles is provided with a mechanical/hydraulic steering gear with a drive cylinder (40) for amplifying steering power for one axle (40), and a hydrostatic steering connection, provided with a blocking device (2), for a second axle (41) which can be actuated via a steering linkage (43) with a second drive cylinder (42, 27). The blocking device has a cylinder (1) which is arranged in the steering linkage of the second axle (41) and in which a securing element (7) which is connected to the steering linkage and adjustable therewith can be mechanically locked by means of an engageable and disengageable blocking component (8). A centring device (3) with two centring pistons (19, 20) which are arranged in a displaceable fashion on a longitudinally displaceable part (4) of the steering linkage (41) is arranged in the steering linkage (43) of the second axle (41). The longitudinally displaceable part (4) has a stop (23, 34) for each of the two centring pistons. A fixed part (24, 25, 35) of the centring device has a second stop, which defines the central position of the steering linkage (41), for each of the centring pistons (19, 20). The piston spaces (17, 18) of the two centring pistons (19, 20) can be pressurised by a pressure medium source (44) which can be activated at least in the area of a straight-ahead position by a switching element (43). <IMAGE>
