<p>PURPOSE:To realize stable delivery for a long period of time under variable drive conditions, by adjusting the content of specified impurities to a very small amount below a specified value in a recording fluid comprising a dispersion of a pigment in a liquid medium consisting mainly of water. CONSTITUTION:In a recording fluid comprising a dispersion of a pigment in a liquid medium consisting mainly of water, the content of each of impurities, Si, Fe, Ca, and Mg, is adjusted to 5ppm or less. A pigment or a dispersion thereof usually contains a large amount of impurities; therefore, when a conventional ink prepared without removing them by purification is used, a precipitate due to said impurities tends to gradually deposit on a heater, which may be causative of stoppage of delivery. The above-mentioned adjustment of the content of the impurities can give an ink excellent in continuous delivery stability and delivery response, and therefore particularly suitable for ink jet recording in which thermal energy is applied for recording.</p> |
