A gas burner has at least one burner chamber which is fed with a gas/air mixture and whose walls are formed by plates (3 and 4) which together enclose at least one hollow space. In addition to this hollow space forming at least one burner chamber (1), said plates (3 and 4) also enclose at least one coolant passage (6) which may be constructed as a passage, preferably of circular cross-section, which runs adjacent to at least one burner chamber, if appropriate at a distance therefrom. <IMAGE>
