PURPOSE:To surely and stably perform the crystallization of a heat-accumulation material over a long period without lowering the function of seed crystal, by contacting and stimulating a seed crystal with a heat-accumulation material consisting of a hydrated salt of a supercooled gel phase, thereby inducing the transition to a crystalline phase and the release of latent heat. CONSTITUTION:A seed crystal of a hydrated salt is supported with a rod 7 in such a manner as to enable free contact of the crystal with a heat- accumulation material 5 composed of said hydrated salt. At the same time, the seed crystal is shielded from the steam generated from the hot heat- accumulation material 5 to prevent the melting of the crystal and is made to contact with the heat-accumulation material 5 of a supercooled phase. The material 5 is stimulated by this process to induce the transition of the heat- accumulation material 5 from a supercooled gel phase to a crystalline phase and to release the latent heat. |
