PURPOSE: To prevent transmission shock by disposing a first clutch device for driving connecting and releasing a ring gear and a second drive device, and a second clutch device for driving connecting and releasing the first drive device and a pinion gear. CONSTITUTION: When a first mode clutch 52 is engaged, a second mode clutch 48 and a reverse brake 70 are released, and a lockup clutch 26 is released, a speed increases from a stop position, so that a carrier 54 and an output portion 12 are driven by a shaft 34, and the speed of a ring gear 50 approaches the speed of a shaft 44. Then, when the speeds of the clutches 52 and 48 become approximately equal to each other, the clutch 52 is released and the clutch 48 is engaged. As a consequence, since the driving member and the driven member of the clutch has the substantially equal speed, transmission chock scarcely occurs. |
