The composite material, for use on seats of aircraft or other forms of transport, is composed of 3 fabrics, two of which form the obverse or outside face in use, while the third appears only on the back and constitutes the anti-fire barrier. Each of the fabrics has a min. density of threads per cm. of yarns from suitable raw materials. They are combined during the weaving process by use of special bonds. The two fabrics forming the front only carbonise by the action of fire, without flame or melting or loss of weight. The materials in the fabric forming the anti-fire barrier, do not produce flame by fire action, nor is the fabric structure destroyed.
