The appts. incorporates at least three sensors of a type which gives the same signal strength for incoming radiation within a hemisphere over the detector and whose output signal has dropped by 3 dB firstly by approximately 60 deg. below its horizontal line. A computer calculates the radiation incoming direction in relation to a three-dimensional coordinate system using the wave front arrival time to the sensors, whose position in space is known. - The arrival time is related to the pulse max. value, and a further sensor is available with the same sensitivity range as that earlier, as is a computer, which together determine the radiation characteristics, such as wavelength, pulse length and pulse repetition frequency. - (Dwg.1/4) |
