PURPOSE:To provide a composition for buccal cavities having a high chemically cleansing effect to tooth stains adhered and deposited on tooth germs, by compounding a specific straight chain ether compound and/or an ether compound having an aromatic ring. CONSTITUTION:A compound selected from a straight chain ether compound having the total carbon number of 8 (e.g., n-butyl ether) and an ether compound having an aromatic ring and the total carbon number of 7-10 (e.g., anisole or benzyl methyl ether) are compounded in an amount of 0.01-20wt.%, preferably 0.1-5wt.%, based on the total amount of the composition. The composition removes the stains of tooth germs effectively by a chemical action, can cleanse the portions of the teeth which a brush does not reach, enhances a beautifully whitening effect on the surfaces of the teeth, can reduce the compounding amount of an abradant when a toothpaste is formulated, etc., and further can reduce the abrasion of the tooth germs. |
