LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE AND ITS PRODUCTION

摘要

PURPOSE:To form an oriented layer having a large orienting pretilt angle with simple constitution and high productivity by constituting the oriented layer of a film consisting of a high-polymer material having a nonpolar atomic group in the main chain thereof. CONSTITUTION:The oriented layer of a liquid crystal display device is constituted of the film of the high-polymer material having the nonpolar atomic group in the main chain thereof. The nonpolar atomic group is constituted of an alkyl group or perfluoroalkyl group of >=5C. The high-polymer material is formed of a polyimide or polyamide high-polymer material. The surface tension of the oriented layer is lowered and the large orienting pretilt angle is obtd. by allowing the nonpolar atomic group to exist in said layer in such a manner. The homogeneous oriented layer is obtd. if the carbon atoms of the nonpolar atomic group are specified to >=5 and the durability of the oriented layer is improved by forming the high-polymer material of the polyimide system and polyamide system.
