The installation consists of an autoclave into which the sheets of wood to be dyed are inserted together with the dye soln., which is heated. The result is dyed wood and a partly-exhausted residual soln. Also included are a small test autoclave supplied with the same wood and dye soln. in which the dyeing can be followed step by step, a circuit for recovering dye from the residual soln. and a circuit for recovering heat from the soln.
