<p>The two complementary pairs of PNP and NPN transistors are connected so that the PNP transistors have commoned emitters connected, via a controllable current mirror circuit, to the positive supply line. Likewise, the emitters of the NPN transistors are connected to the negative supply via another current mirror. The bases of each pair are connected together to form the signal inputs of the amplifier. The control inputs of the current mirror circuits are fed via two additional transistors by a single current reference element. The circuit avoids the need for matching the current amplification factors of the transistors, which would otherwide be necessary to achieve the correct base current compensation.</p> |
