This unit (1) comprises a recipient (2) on which is mounted a distribution head (3). The latter comprises a rotating cover (16) which is maintained on the recipient (2), and whose operation causes the translation of an adapter (13) mounted in a sliding manner on the neck (5) of the bottle. It is thus possible to open and close an upstream valve whose moving part is a plate (18) of the said adapter (13) and whose seat (37) is carried by the cover (16). The plate (18) serves as a support for a spring (14) drawing an applicator (15) into a position of closure of a downstream valve whose seat is carried by the cover (16). The downstream valve opens by the pushing in of the protruding end-piece (49) of the said applicator (15) when it is placed on the support intended to receiver the substance. The position in which the upstream valve is open corresponds to the "ready to use" position, the downstream valve still being closed. The position in which the upstream valve is closed blocks the downstream valve and ensures perfect fluid-tightness. <IMAGE>
