<p>PURPOSE:To use a roll paper efficiently and to shorten useless time by cutting the roll paper immediately upon provision of an emergency stop command even if specified dimension is not ensured and stopping operation. CONSTITUTION:A sheet 7 fed from a paper roll 11 located at sheet feed section 6 is transferred with a toner image between a photo-sensitive drum 1 and a transfer unit 8, then the toner image is fixed through fixing rollers 10, and when the length of the sheet reaches to a specified dimension the sheet is cut by means of a cutter 13. If an emergency stop signal is provided from an external unit when the roll paper 11 is being fed, cutting operation of the roll paper 11 after start of exposure of a sheet of paper is checked, and if cutting operation is recognized, only discharge operation of the sheet 7 through discharge rollers 16 is carried out and the operation is stopped. If it is judged that the roll paper is not cut, a cut command is fed to the cutter 13 to cut the sheet immediately and discharge the cut sheet, then the operation is stopped. Consequently, the roll paper can be used efficiently and useless time can be shortened.</p> |
