PURPOSE:To improve preservability of a toner without increasing the content of a surface treating agent used for coating the surface of toner particles by regulating the particle size of the particles to particle sizes permitting the particles to pass through a sieve having a specified mesh. CONSTITUTION:In a toner consisting of a binder resin, a colorant, and particles having a surface coated with a surface treating agent, the particle size of the particles is regulated to a size permitting the particles to pass through a sieve of >=150 mesh. Such toner is obtd. by, for example, passing a toner which has been treated with a surface treating agent through a sieve of 100 mesh aperture, then passing further through a sieve of >=150 mesh in order to remove foreign matters. Thus, the size of blocks due to formation of lumps from the toner is reduced, and the preservability of the toner is improved. |
