A photoconductive composition is disclosed, comprising at least an inorganic photoconductive material, a sensitizing dye and a resin binder wherein the sensitizing dye is a compound containing at least one acidic group in the molecule thereof as represented by the formula (I): <IMAGE> (I) wherein all the symbols are as defined in the appended claims.
