PURPOSE:To prevent shift of sheet, when a tray moves to the right or left, by lowering the tray upon completion of single sort operation and reciprocating the tray laterally with respect to the feeding direction of sheet, thereby avoiding troublesome contact between a member placed on the upper face of the sheet and the tray. CONSTITUTION:A sheet S is discharged from a copy machine in the direction of a tray 42 then the opposite sides of the sheet S are regulated by means of guideboards 43a, 43b thus arranging the sheet S in lateral direction. The upstream side endface of the sheet S collides against a stopper board along the inclination of the tray 42 to arrange the sheet S in the feeding direction, then the sheet S is stacked onto a group of sheets stacked on the tray 42 while being shifted by a predetermined amount. The tray 42 lower upon completion of a series of copy operation to release regulation of the opposite sides of the sheet. Thereafter, the tray 42 moves by a predetermined amount to the right and elevates subsequently thus regulating the opposite ends of the sheet at a position shifted from the tray through the guideboards 43a, 43b. |
