PURPOSE:To prevent a rapid change of moving action of a vehicle, when it is in cornering, by steering a front wheel or a rear wheel in a manner wherein the front wheel or the rear wheel decreases its side slip angle when the vehicle generates a spin or skid condition. CONSTITUTION:A solenoid 12, which operates an actuator 9 steering a wheel, is controlled by a controller 17. The controller 17 inputs signals from a steering angle sensor 18, car speed sensor 19 and a yaw rate sensor 20. Detecting moving action of a vehicle by each of these sensors, the controller 17 decides the vehicle to be placed in a limit condition by comparing a detection value of the sensor with a limit value corresponding to the value exceeding a limit of cornering force, and the front or rear wheel is controlled in its steered angle in a manner wherein the front or rear wheel returns its slip angle to the slip angle generating the maximum cornering force. |
