PURPOSE:To improve the sensitivity, the reciprocity law characteristic, the development progressing and the stability with age of the title emulsion by adsorbing an adsorbent to the surface of a silver halide particle, and then chemically sensitizing the obtd. particle by incorporating a chemical sensitizer in the particle, followed by desorbing and removing the part or the whole of the adsorbent from the surface of the particle. CONSTITUTION:The method comprises steps of the formation of the particle, the adsorption of the adsorbent, the chemical sensitization of the particle, the deadsorption and removal of the part or the whole of the adsorbent, the redispersion of the emulsion and the addition of additives to the emulsion. Namely, the adsorber to be adsorbed before chemical sensitization is selected so as to be the most optimum conditions about the kind of the adsorber, the adsorbing amount and the adsorbing state from the standpoint of controlling the formation number and the position of a chemical sensitizing nucleus. The effect of the adsorbent on the efficiency of spectral sensitization and another photographic properties can be neglected. And the part or the whole of the adsorbent after chemical sensitization is desorbed and removed. The emulsion is water-washed and redispersed, and the optimum kinds of a spectral sensitizing dye, an anti-fogging agent and a stabilizer are adsorbed to the emulsion in the optimum adsorbing state from the standpoint of the photographic characteristics of the photographic emulsion. Thus, the photographic emulsion having the high sensitivity and the improved reciprocity law characteristics, development progressing and stability with age is obtd. |
