<p>PURPOSE:To simplify a circuit constitution and to lower cost by dividing a Y signal into line blocks of 1XN picture elements and dividing a R-Y signal and a B-Y signal into the blocks of MXL picture elements. CONSTITUTION:At the time of dividing a screen into the blocks, a Y signal is divided into the line blocks of 1XN dots and the color difference signals of R-Y, B-Y are divided into the blocks of MXL dots. Then, at the time of compressing a picture signal, a contour pattern and a gradation pattern are formed from the Y signal to respectively form a gradation parameter from the R-Y signal, the B-Y signal. The Y signal is inputted to a shift register 11, a maximum value shifting calculating part 12 and a maximum value shifting calculating part 13 to obtain ternary data y and a maximum value shift delta2 and output the gradation parameter of the Y signal together with an initial value x1.</p> |
