The present invention relates to fastening blocks for the male part of prosthesis ball joints. The block according to the invention, capable of being fixed in the medullary cavity of a femur, is essentially characterised in that it comprises a stem 4 and a head 5, defining a fastening axis 6, the stem comprising two consecutive parts, a first 8 of curved shape, and a second 9, which is substantially straight along a direction axis 10, each of the two parts being delimited by two substantially plane opposite faces, the two sides 14, 15 joining the opposite faces being separated by a distance substantially equal to the thickness of the medullary cavity, the side 16 of the straight part continuing the convex side 20 of the first curved part, being substantially concave, in order to match the internal surface of the cortical of the diaphysis of the femur, and the convex side of this curved part joining the fastening head 5 through a set-back flat 22. Application: manufacture of prostheses for re-forming the joint of the head of the femur with the hip bone. <IMAGE>
