Device for diverting fluid for an orthogonal-cross-flow heat exchanger, comprising a main circuit 2 with moving means of closing it off, a secondary diverting circuit 20 next to the main circuit and having moving means of diversion, a means of driving all these moving means in synchronisation in such a way that when the main circuit is closed, the secondary diverting circuit is open and vice versa, characterised by the fact that the said means of closing off the main circuit 2 consist of a single main valve 21 pivoting on one side and being at at least one of the ends of the said circuit and that the said means of diversion consist of a single butterfly valve 23 swivelling inside the secondary circuit 20. <IMAGE>
