PURPOSE:To obtain a substance useful as a medicine for treating or preventing diseases within a wide range, such as medicinal, surgical, dermatological diseases, or healthy drug for maintaining health, by heat-treating pearl. CONSTITUTION:A substance obtained by heat-treating pearl finely divided into a powdery, particulate or flaky form at 400-1,500 deg.C, especially 650-950 deg.C temperature. Calcium contained in the pearl is activated by heating and active calcium ions are slowly released by administration to living bodies to produce sustained physiological effects of the active calcium ions for a long period. The above-mentioned substance is useful for treating and preventing medicinal diseases, such as hypertension, diabetes or cardiopathy, surgical and dermatological diseases, such as cancer, hemorrhoids, tympanitis, congelation, athlete's foot or allergic diseases. |
