<p>In a process for manufacturing brushware, bristles in the form of individual plastic bristles or skeins of bristles are inserted through channels and their sleeve-like extensions into a mould for the bristle carrier. The ends of the bristles in the mould are melted by the application of heat to form a thickening which is then sealingly applied to the opening of the sleeve projecting into the mould. The bristles and the sleeve are maintained in position in the mould while the latter is filled, and the sleeve and the sealing thickening at the bristle ends in contact with the sleeve opening are surrounded by the brush carrier material during filling of the mould. The sleeve is then removed from the brush carrier.</p> |
