Intake elbow and process for its production

An intake elbow, which is provided with a compensator reservoir, a plurality of channel parts branching off from this reservoir and a connection flange arranged at the free end of this plurality of channel parts, is formed with the entire compensator reservoir, or the channels and the connection flange or on parts of these by a material suitable for a reaction injection moulding process. For production, a core capable of fluidising is placed in a mould and a reaction injection moulding material is injected into the mould. After opening, the core is removed in the fluidised state. Alternatively, during production, a hollow resin moulding is introduced into a mould as an insert instead of the core and a reaction injection moulding material is injected into the mould, after which the product produced is removed together with the hollow resin moulding.
