The ellipse-drawing machine according to the invention is intended to permit accurate drawing of ellipses, circles, curves and other geometrical figures, the drawing operation taking place without interruption and drawing of different figures with axes displaced relative to each other about a central point being permitted. This object is achieved in that the drawing arm (2), on which the retaining member (4) and the compass attachment (19) for the drawing machine are fixed, is moved parallel to the base body by means of two guide rods (3). The drawing arm is seated in a freely displaceable manner in a guide part (1), which is connected to two counter-pieces (11), displaceable on the guide rods, with two head parts with recesses for the shafts (6) which are mounted vertically in the base body (13), these shafts being driven by toothed wheels from a shaft extending horizontally through the base body on the longitudinal axis. This shaft is driven by a spur pinion (10) seated externally on the end surface of the base body, on which spur pinion the base body rests heavily. The ellipse-drawing machine is turned, during the drawing operation, by means of a guide pin (15) around the compass point (9), whose distance apart can be modified.
