<p>This invention relates to a shoe fixing device of a bicycle pedal characterized in that a rotary plate (2) is fitted onto the upper surface of a bicycle pedal body, a front engagement member (4) engaging with a front edge of a shoe plate fixed to a shoe bottom is disposed in front of the rotary plate, a rear engagement member (7) engaging with a rear edge of the shoe plate is disposed on the back of the pedal body, and a brake is disposed below the rotary plate or the rear engagement member is brought into pressure contact with the rear edge of the shoe plate in order to limit the rotation of the rotary plate. After the front edge of the shoe plate is engaged with the front engagement member, the shoe is rotated so as to engage the rear edge of the shoe plate with the rear engagement member. In this manner the shoe can be fixed to the pedal and released from the pedal when the leg is rotated reversely from the fixed state.</p> |
