<p>A heel-holding device for cross-country and touring skiing boots releases the boot in directions transverse to the longitudinal axis of the ski and in the vertical direction when predetermined release values are exceeded. Through a special design and selection of materials, the number of separated parts of the binding have been minimized.</p>
