A box spring assembly including a foundation (1, 2, 3) and defining a deck for receiving a bedding load, comprises a plurality of deck elements (4) each formed from a single length of wire having an elongate central section (5) terminating in curved sections (12, 13) extending at least in some elements into spring legs (12, 13), the deck elements being arranged in parallel rows with adjacent elements of each row being secured to each other and to adjacent rows by connecting elements (14), whereby the central sections of the deck elements and the connecting elements together form the deck, the deck being supported by the spring legs which are secured at their lower ends (8, 9) to the foundation, characterised in that the curved sections and the spring legs are of the same hand for at least some deck elements (the S-shaped elements) such that the central sections thereof are obliquely oriented and non-aligned with reference to the row of which the deck elements form part. |
