MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording medium which decreases the fluctuation of the coefft. of friction and has an excellent traveling property and durability by incorporating a specific ratio of free fatty acid into a magnetic layer formed on one main face of a nonmagnetic base film. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic recording medium constituted by forming the magnetic layer on one main face of the nonmagnetic base film contains the free fatty acid at 1.00-10.00mg per 1g magnetic layer. The content of the free fatty acid in the magnetic layer is preferably 1.00-3.00mg to prevent the strength of the coated film from being weakened. Further, fatty acid ester is preferably added thereto at <=20pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. magnetic powder. The magnetic recording tape which has the smooth surface and the small coefft. of friction, contains a moderate lubricating agent and has the excellent traveling property and durability is thereby obtd.
