PURPOSE:To obtain an optical recording medium having an absorption band in a long wavelength region and stable to heat, by providing an organic thin film comprising a specified polymethylene compound, in an optical recording medium for writing by a transistor laser. CONSTITUTION:A polymethylene compound of formula I or II (wherein each of R1 and R2 is an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, an aralkyl group, an aryl group or the like; each of Z1 and Z2 is substituted or unsubstituted heterocyclic ring; Z3 is an atom group required for forming a 5-membered ring or a 6-membered ring; R3 is a hydrogen atom or a halogen atom; each of R4 and R5 is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a hydroxyl group, a carboxyl group or the like; X is an acid anion; each of l, m and n is 0 or 1) is vapor-deposited on a base formed of a polyester or the like or is coated on the base together with a binder to form an organic thin film. The content of the polyethylene compound in the film is 1-90wt%, and the film thickness is not larger than 10mmu. |
