Closure device for a chin-strap (4) of a protective helmet, protective motorcycle helmet or similar. An insertable clasp (5) for the fastening section (14) of the chin-strap (4) is provided on the helmet shell (1). The other end of the chin-strap is secured to the side of the helmet shell (1) opposite the insertable clasp (5). The fastening section (14) is retained in the insertable clasp (5) by a ratchet device. The ratchet teeth (27) are located on one of the two narrow sides of the fastening section (14) and the associated catch part (34) is arranged laterally adjacent to, and in approximately the same plane as, the fastening section. This leads to a significant reduction in the overall height of the insertable clasp (5), so that the padding in the region of the insertable clasp can be correspondingly thicker. |
