PURPOSE:To quickly decide and remove a noise by referring to the state of the picture elements of specified lines immediately before and a prescribed number of lines after the line including the objective picture element, and deciding whether the objective picture element is to be considered to be the noise or not. CONSTITUTION:In a figure, H shows the maximum value of the height of the noise, W shows the maximum value of the width of the noise, L shows a value larger than (WX(H-1)+1), x, x0, etc., show the addresses of the picture elements on the line, and (y) shows the address of the line. At first, the start address x0 of the black column of the objective line (y) and the start address of the next white column of the objective line (y) are obtained. Thus, a black picture element a0 can be determined. When all the picture elements a1 are white picture elements, it is decided whether all the picture elements a2 (the width is (W+(LX2)) of the addresses (x0-L)-(X+L-1) of the line (y+H) are the white picture elements or not. If all the picture elements a2 are the white picture elements, the black picture element a0 is considered as the noise, and it is changed into the white picture element (white column), and the noise is removed. |
