PURPOSE:To eliminate necessity for use of any water circulation device and thereby simplify the overall construction by pumping the river water at the upper flow of a hydraulic machine, sending it to a water tank furnished at a place with comparatively high level and by supplying the water in this tank to a bearing or shaft sealing water device by means of natural flowdown. CONSTITUTION:A vertical shaft Francis turbine turns an impeller 13 by introducing the river water 15 into the casing 14 through water pressure pipe etc. When the main bearing 11, which bears the spindle 10 with impeller 13 mounted at its lower part, is to be water lubricated, a water intake pipe 16 is connected at the upper flow line in communication to the casing 14, a pump 17 is provided in the middle of this water intake pipe 16, and thereby the river water 15 is suppled to a water tank 18, located above the location of the main bearing 11, through a strainer 19. The purified water in the tank 18 is introduced to the main bearing 11 through a service pipe 22 while waters overflowing from the main bearing 11 are drained through an exhaust pipe 24. |
