PURPOSE:To achieve the miniaturization, wt. reduction and cost reduction of a printer, by simple constitution such that a head carriage is revolved in a direction opposite to a platen at the left and right ends in a printing line direction along with feed operation and a printing head is separated from the platen. CONSTITUTION:In printing operation, a head carriage 13 is sent from the left end to the right in a printing line direction and printing operation is performed to recording paper A by a printing head 15. When the head carriage 13 moves to the other end in the printing line direction, a roller 14 is guided downwardly along the inclined route of the inclined part 123 of a guide groove 121 and the head carriage 13 is revolved around a guide shaft 11 in the direction separated from a platen 10 and the printing head 15 is separated from the platen 10. In this state, the recording paper A is fed in the printing line direction by a paper feeder and the head carriage 13 is fed back to the left in a printing row direction. At the same time, the paper feeder is operated and the recording paper A is fed in the printing row direction to be subsequently subjected to printing. |
