摘要 PURPOSE:To provide the titled element high in sensitivity with respect to an alcohol gas, by a sintered body containing magnesium chromate, chromium oxide and zirconium oxide with a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:A sintered body is constituted from, on the basis of a wt. ratio, 0.55-0.95 magnesium chromate, 0.001-0.20 chromium oxide and 0.02-0.44 zirconium oxide. This ratio is asked from the peak area of X-ray diffraction, that is, from each area ratio of a diffraction surface 3, 1, 1 having a peak at 85.7 deg. in magnesium chromate, a diffraction surface 1, 0, 4 having a peak at 33.6 deg. in chromium oxide and a diffraction surface 1, 1 having a peak at 28.3 deg. in zirconium oxide. Thus constituted element is used alone and also availably used as a compensation element avoiding a phenomenon resulting in erroroneous information wherein, with respect to an alcohol gas and a fuel gas, because there is large difference in a changing resistance value, for example, a detecting element for detecting the leakage of the fuel gas shows resistance change corresponding to the gas concn. of the alcohol gas generated during cooking.
