PURPOSE:To improve dimensional precision, surface smoothness, heat resistance and mechanical strength, by mixing potassium titanate fibers with a binder such as epoxy resin or polyamide resin to be composite for fiber reinforcement. CONSTITUTION:Any magnetic substance powder of ferrite, rare earth, casting and the like may be used, and any of a rubber material, a thermoplastic synthetic resin material, a thermosetting synthetic resin material and the like may be used as a binder. These are kneaded with potassium titanate fibers and subjected to injection molding or compression molding, and thereby an expected heat resistant plastic magnet is obtained. As for the potassium titanate fibers used herein, a single composition of 4-potassium titanate fibers, 6-potassium titanate fibers or the like or a mixed composition thereof, for instance, may be used, and the quantity of the fibers compounded is set to be 1-60wt.% in relation to the binder according to the kind of the binder to be used. By this method, molding dimensional precision and surface smoothness, as well as heat resistance and mechanical strength, can be improved. |
