发明名称 ALUMINA-SIALON COMPOUND SINTERED BODY
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain the title sintered body having high temp. strength and high fracture toughness by mixing alpha-alumina powder with beta'-sialon powder in a specified proportion and sintering the mixture in a nonoxidizing atmosphere after molding the mixture. CONSTITUTION:A powder mixture of starting materials consisting of 40-85% alpha-alumina powder having 0.01-5mu particle size and 60-15% beta'-sialon powder having 0.01-5mu particle size, is molded by press-molding, extrusion molding, injection molding, or casting, etc. Obtd. molded body is then sintered at 1300-2000 deg.C in nonoxidizing atmosphere by sintering under normal pressure, under gaseous pressure, hot pressing, or HIP process, etc. Thus, the title sintered body is obtd. wherein continuous phase of beta'-sialon crystal coexists with continuous phase of alpha-alumina phase plus sintered phase in the above described proportion, bonding theses phases firmly to each other, forming thus a three- dimensionally entangled structure.
