PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of wasteful time for a predetermined interval caused by the breakage of a printing paper, by providing a switching means for temporarily stopping a printer for the breakage of printing paper, so that data can be stopped to be outputted for a predetermined time interval when an operator so desires. CONSTITUTION:When a switch 111 is depressed, the flag of a flag manipulation means 112 is turned ON, and an operation state confirming means 113 checks whether a printer 1 is being operated. If the printer 1 is not performing printing operation, a timer means 114 is actuated, so that the flag is turned OFF after the elapse of a preset time. On the other hand, if the printer is printing, the timer means 114 is actuated after completion of the printing operation. Upon receipt of data by the printer 1 from an output requiring device, a flag checking means 121 checks the state of the flag. Consequently, when the flag is in the OFF state, a temporary stop controlling means 122 controls to start the printing operation, while in the ON-state of the flag, the controlling means 122 controls to start the printing operation after the flag is confirmed to be turned OFF. Accordingly, an operator can cut a printing paper whether he so desires at a selected place between the data, resulting in the prevention of wasteful consumption of time. |
