ERASABLE OPTICAL RECORDING METHOD A method of writing and erasing on an optical recording element is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of: a. providing an optical recording element comprising an amorphous thin film of a GeTe alloy; b. preparing the thin film for writing and erasing cycles by crystallizing the film: c. writing on selected portions of the prepared film with modulated laser beam, thereby converting portions on the films to a phase-segregated amorphous state.
